after the 'debate' programme on sky last night they had a la liga icons thing featuring beckham. it showed all his goals and many of his assists and it highlighted what a great player he was to shine in a team filled with stars like figo, roberto carlos, fat ronaldo, raul & zidane

Agreed. I was referring to the 'in my lifetime' bit.
Moore, Charlton and I would also suggest Billy Wright who were all world class in their day.

In my humble I'd suggest Moore, Charlton and Gascoigne are the 3 best English players.

its very telling that you can list many names from those countries to fill a team of world class players. if you added england to the list who do you have?
very few in my lifetime.

I have to say, that is good work TM. Hard to say much better than that.
Breitner's the only one I would have an issue with, funnily enough, as it seems a bit harsh on Berti Vogts who actually played RB alongside him. Philip Lahm's another one worth a shout.

I had to do that for Breitner who was a left back but so good he could have played anywhere

TM - Good work that.

It's not as cut and dry. Very similar players. Baggio more tricky. Both amazing.
Del Piero much more decorated with a world cup, Champions League, UEFA cup and 5 Serie A titles.
Baggio only 2 Serie A titles and UEFA cup. It's not particularly as well decorated as you'd think someone of Baggio's class would be.
Both scored similar amounts of goals but again Del Piero pips it for amount although Baggio has better goals per game ratio.
I love them both. They are both footballing gods in my eyes.
